TOWNSHIP CLEAN UP DAY

The annual Township Clean Up Day will be held Saturday, May 18, 2024, from 8:00 am-12:00 pm. Dumpsters will be available at the township parking lot for resident use, free of charge. 

 

A list of prohibited items can be found on the website a week prior to the Clean-Up Day. Tires will be accepted for a fee. Tires on the rim - $8 each. Tires off the rim - $5 each. Please bring exact cash payment for tire disposal.

CASS COUNTY USED PASSENGER TIRE & HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE COLLECTION

This event will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 24, at the Cass County Road Commission, 340 N. O’Keefe St., Cassopolis. With proof of residence in Cass County, people may drop off used tires from cars and pickup trucks, as well as a myriad of solid waste materials ranging from chemicals to electronics. PUBLIC NOTICE

Notice is hereby given that Jefferson Township residents who reside within the Edwardsburg School District will have an election on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, to consider a bond proposal for Edwardsburg Schools.

No other proposal will appear on the ballot.

Note: No early voting will be available. Absentee ballots are available.

The township will be open TUESDAYS from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm unless otherwise posted.

The office will be closed whenever Cassopolis and/or Edwardsburg Public Schools are closed during the school year.

PROPERTY TAX PAYMENTS 

Contact the Treasurer for late fees and penalties before submitting payments.

Treasurer Karla Mendenhall will be in her office, 67722 N. Shore Dr., Edwardsburg, MI 49112, Wednesdays from 9 am – 12 pm, or residents can call and make an appointment.  She has flexibility to schedule appointments. 

​

Please do not drop off payments at the township building.

​

Karla does not hold office hours at the township hall. Other township officials do not accept payments and cannot answer tax bill questions. 

​

MCL 211.7u provides for a property tax exemption, in whole or part, for the principal residence of persons who, by reason of poverty, are unable to contribute to the public charges.
